Steven Shearer was born in New Westminster, was raised in Port Coquitlam and now lives and works in Vancouver, Canada. He received a BFA in studio arts from Emily Carr College of Art and Design in 1992. Shearer’s work has been exhibited worldwide, recent solo exhibitions include: De Appel Arts Centre, Amsterdam, 2007; Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, 2007; The Power Plant, Toronto, 2007; Galleria Franco Noero, Turin, 2006; Galerie Eva Presenhuber, Zurich, 2005; Illingworth Kerr Gallery, Alberta College of Art and Design, Calgary, 2005; and Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver, 2004.
